Save enough money to go travelling in just over a year

If I had my way, at the end of our year lease on our flat next Feb, I would move to either my Mum or Dads or my boyfriends parents and save my arse off for 3 odd months and then go off travelling for 3-6 months or whatever I could afford!

He is quite happy with just doing holidays though and would rather save for a deposit to buy a place but I really feel I need to do this travelling first before I settle down and buy a place…I am getting broody so I really need to do it soon! Well I will save as mcuh as I can now here and there and as the end of our year here gets closer then I will bring up the subject again with him and then I will have to make a decision based on that. No point worrying now when I am not in a position to go yet.

I love my boyfriend, I love our little flat, our weekends away, our holidays, our friends but I want more, I always want more…but travelling is my main interest. Holidays are fun but a week or two here and there doesn’t give you enough experience or change.
I would love to just start saving and go the year after next but my boyfriend is happy with what we are doing now. I have asked him but he makes excuses.
Could I go alone? Would I want him to go away for 6 months without me?
