I’ve been wanting to learn to tatto so I went ahead and bought a complete kit and practiced on fruit til I got comfortable with it then I started on myself. I want to get more than just proficient and turn this passion into a vocation.
How to learn to tattoo
How I did it: Well, my brother in law is a tattoo artist, so I learned it all from him, and seriously if I tell my mom I am interested in something she always takes me very seriously so that year for Christmas she bought me a whole tattooing kit, and I traded a refrigerator for a 2nd tattoo machine. I needed 2 one for shading and one for lining.
Lessons & tips: Don't be afraid to ask as many questions as you can, you can never know enough. It is definitely harder than I thought it would be. They make it look so easy on TV and in tattoo shops, it's really not. It takes ALOT of patience which I am short on and I should make that my next goal....to get more patience. ha ha!! I don't know how I am an artist with no patience. But anyways, so if you have a chance to do it try it. It's for sure worth trying, but you really have to have a passion for it to stick around through all the learning process. I am glad I did it, but it won't be my next career move, at least until I have a couple more years practice.
Resources: The picture is of my first tattoo. I have done about 20 I guess in a years time.

I got my first tattoo at the age of 17 and almost every year since, I’ve gotten inked in some way or another. It’s extremely addicting, and beyond fascinating. So much so that I’m dying to learn how to tattoo. I purchased my first tattoo machine today and have resolved each week to purchase more supplies so that I may learn to tattoo effectively.
