2nd week of crossfit 4 years ago

Hmm.. well the second week got interrupted by the porch project. I did manage to get 4 solid workouts done last week. The key to success is waking up early enough in the mornings to do it. If I don’t it doesn’t happen. I might modify or abandon crossfit. I find their expectations to be too unrealistic. E.g. today’s WOD requires 30 muscle ups or 120 pullups and 120 dips??? There are very few people who could do this.

1st week of crossfit 4 years ago

Good gravy this is some of the most painful stuff I’ve ever done. During yesterday’s workout of the day I honestly thought I was going to puke after the first round. I can’t believe how compactly painful these workouts are. Yesterday I did a 400m run 20 plyometric 24” jumps, and 20×16kg kettlebell tosses… for three rounds for time. The first I did in 3” 15s the last round I did in 4” 50s. I was rolling around gasping for air at the end. So I only did 14” of actual activity, but the end result left me exhausted for hours. Crossfit is the real deal, the hardest workouts I’ve ever done. The real trick will be trying to keep this up.

So I’ve started doing crossfits workout of the day (WOD). I’ve scaled them back so they’re more human doable. Today I did 84×16kg kettlebell snatches and 119 pushups in 16 minutes. It wasn’t all that bad. My biggest problem is finding a program and sticking with it. Hopefully crossfit will give me enough variety to keep me interested. I also hope I can maintain this regimen in spite of upcoming nuptials.

Well I’m currently at 60bpm which isn’t bad but isn’t great. I think 55 is doable.
