I have sketched out an outline, and am clear on the first half-dozen locations. I tried to use them to memorise some “to do” lists, and it was very effective, so I’m going to persevere. I’m also creating a computer version of it (non-interactive, just the list of locations with pictures) to help me visualise it.

I tried remembering, imagining a few visual spaces and was surprised by the intenseness of visual memory.
How cool would it be to have an entire complex of buildings (even a city). I was thinking of using the memory palace to memorize a universal historical timeline. Maybe a room per century. Or a room per geographical area. Not sure at this point.
For remembering numbers, I’m deciding between the Major Mnemonic system and the Dominic System. Any advice?

OK, it’s not a completely new idea for me, although I was just reading about Memory Palace’s in Derren Brown’s book, and it sounds like it good work well – I’ll give it a go!
For the uninitiated… do a search on “Method of Loci”.
