Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

its all in staying fit and eating right, iv weighted 120 for a whole year and a half now. 4 years ago

I didn’t realize I had made these a goal nearly a year ago. It seems like only a few weeks ago. Anyway, I have been pretty stable with my weight…its winter time I have to watch out for because that is when I generally gain unnecessary weight. I am a few pounds more than 120, but like I had said in my first entry, the number didn’t have to be exact. I wanted to stay near 120, giving myself a little room to move, I suppose. So I think I will check this off as being done, although its something I plan to continue monitoring. 5 years ago

acidicweigh 120. stay 120.

I guess I shouldn’t really put a number on the amount I want to weigh, since one can vary by a few pounds over the course of a month, but I always looked and felt my best when I was 120 lbs. Sometimes I can manage to lose the weight, but then I quickly gain it back. I need to learn how to stick to my exercise and healthy eating in order to maintain my ideal body size. 120 is also a healthy weight for a lady of my size and frame…so I really don’t want to join a 120 lbs. goal where everyone is “5’10 130 lbs and I feel like such a fat cow!” because that is ridiculous. I am sure it can be argued that I am being ridiculous…but I am doing this more because I feel like crap with the extra weight I am carrying, not because I don’t like the jeans size I am wearing. 6 years ago
