Had the opportunity of meeting the current Commander in Chief at a rally in some small town during the primaries. He was a nice guy- my mother and him had a very brevid conversation, while I shook his hand (not touched- shook :-). Very nice guy.

How to meet Barack Obama"It was a day that I will remember for the rest of my life!"
How I did it: He was speaking at a rally on May 14, in Charleston WV. The event was scheduled to start at noon, I believe. I woke up at 4:00 a.m., drove approx. 50 miles, and was the first one in line. I sat directly in front of him during his speech, and afterwards I got to shake his hand, and exchange a few pleasantries. Resources: An alarm clock!

How I did it: Just something that I was able to do because I was at the right place at the right time! Unfortunately, we forgot our camera, and had only my daughter's digital camera with a nearly dead battery! Read how I did it…

He came to speak at my school during the primaries. I skipped class to line up hours early, got in the rope line, and was able to hug him and exchange a few words. I will remember it for the rest of my life.
I was pretty lucky, to be honest. He was doing a rally at my university, and somehow, by chance, I was able to make my way up to the front…and after he made this incredible speech, he stepped off the platform to chat and shake hands with those around him. In my big moment, I was overcome and awestruck, and though I had rehearsed all the profound things I would say to this man if I ever had the slim chance of meeting him, all I could muster out was that “Dude, you’re awesome” which elicited a chuckle and a thanks. We chatted about little after that, as he had to move on, but it was definitely one of the most defining moments of my life, and having the chance to look the then future president in the eye and have an exchange and shake his hand was probably one of those things that you just never forget, especially from such a historically precedent breaking perspective. Plus, I’m going into politics, so it was just an extremely inspiring moment as well. Thank goodness I brought my camera that day!

Just one more person who showed up at a campaign stop for Senator Obama, to be President as of tomorrow! My daughters got a picture with him, and I would have except we forgot our camera and then the only camera we had didn’t have a battery! The stupid date stamp was off on the camera too, because of the battery problem, and we were only able to get one shot with the camera.
But he signed my copy of his book, The Audacity of Hope, and I told him that I would be devastated if he wasn’t the candidate in the fall (at that time, it was still the primaries). He replied, “Don’t worry, it’s going to happen!” and he shook my hand.

I really want to meet him. As a sophomore in High School, I’ll need to do something amazing to acheive this. Preferably, not by getting terminally ill and asking to meet him through make-a-wish, but by saving a helicopter full of baby snow leopards. Or something.

Hello, I live in British Columbia, Canada.
I’m fourteen year old and a grade 9 student in Gleneagle Secondary School. Tonight, November 4, 2008, the first thing I did after school was watching TV and seeing Mr. Obama winning the presidency. Fortunately, he won and I believe he can change the world!
Since a long time ago, I’ve really wanted to me Mr. Obama…
but I know a fourteen year-old girl in Canada cannot meet a president…
But I really admire him and really want to meet him…is there any way I could meet him?
He is such a brilliant man and I admire his class and honesty. He wants to help everyone and I think that’s amazing. He says everything I want to hear. I wish there was a way to start a group that would actually make a difference and help him. If anyone is interested, contact me scottd26@gmail.com.

We happened to be leaving Chicago on a Sunday afternoon. I heard on the radio Saturday night that’d he’d be signing his book at a church Sunday morning. I had just finished reading the book, and figured we go over there on the off chance that we might get an autograph. Sure enough, we got the autograph and a picture. Way cool.
I’ve met the man on three separate occasions so far, and he actually remembered me! The very first time I met him, I was wearing my “BARACK AND ROLL” teeshirt. By the time I got my second and third chances, it didn’t fit anymore. But when he noticed me, he looked right and me and said “Barack and Roll, right?” And then I nearly fainted.
