I read the first two books a very long time ago.
I recently re-read them and have finished the waste lands and wizard and glass.
I started Wolves of the Calla last night.
I started to read these again in September.
At the rate I am going, I will be done with all of them in March sometime.
I really enjoy King’s work.

Glambabie is wishing everyone a happy Thanksgiving!
Last night I had to bid farewell to Eddie, Oy, Jake, Susannah and of course Roland… my journey is done. I let it all sink in and decided I really liked how Stephen King wrote the ending. I also liked that he included Robert Browning’s “Childe Roland to the Dark Tower Came” at the end of the book. It has taken me years to finish this adventure, ever since I picked up The Gunslinger about seven years ago I have loved this tale. Long Days and Pleasant Nights to ya!

I am 2/3 done but the journey is coming to a close and is very sad… I found myself crying last night while reading. The way King writes puts you right in the story and the tragic events choked me up! I am too emotional!

I am about 200 pages in and I am loving it!! I haven’t found much time to read lately but this weekend I plan on really getting into it.

I am getting ready to start The Dark Tower, the last book. The journey is almost over.

I finished “The Dark Tower” almost a month ago and…. wow. I’m still blown away by the scope and intricacy and humanity of these books. Roland is among the most tragic figures ever, and my heart just broke for him. I am so, so happy I followed my oh-so-wise fiance’s advice and invested so much of my time in these books, as the fulfillment and enjoyment I found in these books was SO worth it.
I honestly have a whole new respect for Stephen King as a writer now. Thankee, sai.

while i love knowing getting deeper into the story and seeing how certain elements of the story tie together (five books later!), i am a little sad that i just have the seventh book and 3/4 of this book standing between me and the end of the series.
though after that, i’m going to start reading the comic books, so that’ll make the story last a little bit longer.

i had some time to myself last night, so i spent a good hour getting lost in “wolves of the calla,” which finally inched me over the halfway point.
in a way, i’m kind of glad it’s taking so long to make my way through these books. the ka-tet aside, i’ve loved so many of the characters stephen king has introduced in these books, and it’s so fascinating how he’s tied so many of his other works into this series – it also makes me want to read so many of his novels that i haven’t read yet (which is an excellent marketing scheme and an even better plot device). though it’s not like i don’t own enough books that i realistically won’t get around to for another year or so (“war and peace,” i’m looking very specifically at you).

i’m not even 200 pages into “wolves of the calla,” but i’m at least making very, very gradual progress. it just bums me out that i was able to devour both of the first two books in a matter of days, and have spent MONTHS on the third, fourth and fifth books. it’s not like this is a chore, but i still have two more books to go and i just want to know how everything ties together! additionally, i got my fiance the hardbound “gunslinger born” as an early anniversary gift on the day it was released, and, since i’ve finished “wizard and glass,” i really want to read the comics now, too.
i think i’m going to spend more of my free time reading instead of poking around the internets. i really miss reading so much, and i feel like my younger self would be so ashamed that i don’t read as voraciously as a i used to.
it was the “gunslinger born” comics that got me in the mood to read the whole series again. if anyone is reading the books, you should DEFINITELY pick these up. i believe they are going to be released as a set this fall. i would be sure to have read “wizard and glass” first, since the comics deal mostly with that story.
