We bought a latch for the toilet today. That way there can be no accidents with him getting in there without our knowing.

We have now secured a fenced off section of the house where our son can crawl around in. He seems to enjoy this and plays with his toys in this area. It is also big enough for us to jump into and play with him so it also gives us parents a lot of pleasure.

We first tried the Kidco toilet lock but our bolts are plastic and worn so it didn’t work. I bought the Mother’s Helper toilet lock and it works like a charm. It’s cheaper too. Go figure.

We have cleared a large section of the house for our son to crawl around in in the near future. Today we will work on getting the necessary safety areas in place so he can start using it shortly.

Added toilet to the list. Babybutt tired to open the toilet today. Thank goodness she failed. The toilet would already be baby-proofed but the first contraption I bought didn’t work with our toilet. It would’ve been so easy too. I did buy something else, just haven’t tried to put it on… seems a little more complicated. Hokey said he would try to put it on. Gotta tell him to do it soon!

1. I took everything from the bottom shelf in the bathroom and put it on the top shelf. Things like shampoo, mouthwash, suntan lotion, etc. And put the towels on the bottom shelf. So Babybutt throws all the towels on the floor. It’s better than her putting her mouth on a bottle of shampoo or getting her hands on some meds.
2. I moved some things from the bedroom bookshelf to storage bins and now the last two shelves are all baby books. There are still lots of books that she could easily tear. If this becomes a problem we might have to store all books except for board books, but for now it’s a fix.

In recent times we have made several purchases to help make our house baby proof. We ghave bought a new rug for our son to
crawl on which is nice and cushioned. Where also setting up a playpen which he can crawl around safely in. Finally we have bought a foam rubber mattress for his port a cot so that it is softer for when he falls over in it. So we slowly but surely are getting there in our pursuit of this goal.
Missa Only has 10 weeks to go:)
We found out the ones I like – with the magnetic key – won’t work on our cabinets. So we did the old-fashioned ones that you have to press down on while you open. But it is done!!! Andrew enjoys being in the kitchen with us.

We can’t get rid of the fruit flies! We will ban the highchair and make Andrew eat on the portable high chair that straps to a chair. It’ll be nice to have the space back.
