    Worth doing!

O.K. So, this began for me prior to my posting it here. I figured I had to do it for longer than a few days before I could really say i’ve done it. At this point I have done it every day for over a month and have gotten to the point where I can’t imagine NOT doing it. That was good enough for me.

Was it worth it? Absolutely!!! It’s amazing how the attitude changes as does the mental and physical output. I highly recommend it.

The trick to doing it everyday is to not beat yourself up if you only do one round and you don’t do it as good as you have done it in the past. As long as you do your best at that moment, and even if you only do it once, that’s better than not at all and before you know it, it gets easier, you become more limber, you gain confidence and you do it more rounds each time.

    Go for it!!!

    Worth doing!

Well…deepening my practice is something i’ve been doing for fifteen years now and it will never end. One thing I have found very helpful regarding doing yoga in the mornings is that it helps when I walk my daughter to school, get’s the blood flowing, ya know?
I used to have trouble doing it in the morning because I generally wake up pretty stiff and unmotivated, i’m really more of a night person. Still, I know from experience that when I do yoga in the morning it gives me energy and makes me feel really good, just a better way to start the day. I also like the “Dance of Life” which is a Cherokee “thing” I learned at an herbal symposium I went to years ago, it also gets the blood flowing. It also has an emphasis on the four directions, which i’m really into, it’s like greeting the North, South, East and West every morning so doing that i’m saying howdy to the Sun AND all the directions i’m so often calling upon. I often do that or Tai Chi (dance of the 5 elements) to prep myself for yoga.
What I like about doing Sun Salutations in the morning is that A) I am greeting the rising sun and B) It’s a series of motion that is all inclusive. One round or nine (my favorite) I know every muscle gets to feel the love;)

So far, going OK  — 1 year ago

I’ve done a round each day so far, but not first thing. I’m working on it!

    Day 1 - success  — 1 year ago

Well, sort of. I did a slap-dash one round of surya namaskar, but that’s the idea – at least one round per day, plus I did this at 4pm – but it made me believe I will find time to do this properly tomorrow and fit in a few more rounds.

Have set myself this as a new challenge  — 1 year ago

I must do at least one round of sun salutations each day, even if it’s not first thing to complete this challenge. I’m letting myself off today but will begin tomorrow, 23rd March and there will be a total of 9 days.
    I can do this!

This is a reminder to me to get back on track  — 1 year ago

My yoga practice has fallen by the wayside. I have developed a problem with my hip/muscle and this is preventing me or stopping me want to do Yoga.
A round or three of sun salutations each morning would help me focus again on Yoga, and encourage me to reach my goals.

    why?  — 2 years ago

to gain strenght and flexibility from a relatively easy routine, that builds strenght and flexibility. guess the morning part will be the hardest…
