I did it! My very own Thanksgiving dinner in England :) I did use a short cut or 2 (used instant stuffing and gravy mix, got a pre-roasted chicken from the grocery store), but to my credit, I did some things the especially hard way (cooked/pulverized the butternut squash myself for the pumpkin pie, french fried the onions for the green bean casserole). My English flatmates were also duly impressed. It was all so, so worth it.
I also got the boys to do the washing up. Score! 2 months ago

Why didn’t I think of it? This ought to be a goal!!
Well I’ve done the dinner. Just wanted to pop on here quickly to use my cheers, before the Cheer Fairy cruelly snatches them away (Thanksgiving or no Thanksgiving, she can be fickle that way – see? I’ve run out already, and there’s loads more people I still need to cheer…)
I also wanted to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving!
I shall post more details of Thanksgiving Dinner tomorrow!

Doing some early planning for my very own English Thanksgiving feast. I’m thinking chicken (our oven doesn’t do turkey), stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed and gravy, green bean casserole, maybe yams, and pumpkin pie…any other suggestions?
I’m really hoping I can find all the ingredients I need, especially the french fried onions for the casserole. 3 months ago
