Congratulations team K.L.A.S 13 months ago

Congratulations team for your kick ass effort.

We in the last month have clocked up 1,692,533 steps.

With the correct extra clue hunts we have also gained an extra 12,000 steps as we got 3 of them correct.

The track for the month was 768,105 steps around it and with our major effort in walking and our correct clue hunt bonus steps we have clocked the track a HUGE 2.22 times.

AGAIN WELL DONE TEAM!!!

Ok i hear you asking where to from here, on the 7 November 08 there will be a draw of all the prizes and the results will be on more fm 91.6. Sport northland will also email and ring the winners of the prizes and if we are the lucky team to win the bank accounts with ASB, we will be asked to go into our local branch and arrange this. Any other prizes will be couriered out to us.

THANKS TO SPORT NORTHLAND, ASB BANK AND NORTHLAND’S MORE FM!!!

Also to team K.L.A.S for letting me be apart of the team.

Ok, week four...... 14 months ago

As we are in Whangarei, we have taken part in the A.H. Reed challenge. We have the answer and just need to clock up a few more steps until the end of the week. The game of cricket helped heaps!!!

Week 4 (20 – 26 Oct) extra clue hunt 14 months ago

This is your last chance to clock up a few extra steps by doing the extra clue hunt. This weeks clue hunts are as follows:

Kaipara

Make your way to Selwyn Park in Dargaville and tell us what the game is on the yellow cubes in the play ground. To walk from the Sport Northland office (old post office building, cnr of Normanby & Hokianga Roads) to Selwyn Park along Normanby St , around the park and back to the Sport Northland office is approximately 2.8km or 3,500 steps.

Far North

Take a trip to Lake Ngatu just north of Awanui on West Coast Rd. Make sure to pack a picnic after you enjoy a walk around the beautiful lake (approximately 4km or 5,000 steps – click here for a description). The lake is often used for Waka Ama practise and regattas. As you walk from the car park end of the lake you will come across some waka’s. Tell us the two colours of the two man waka parked there – the top is one colour and the bottom is another colour.

Whangarei

A.H Reed Memorial Kauri Park is a magnificent remnant of the original kauri forests. The park features a canopy walkway, which provides you with a bird’s eye view of the forest. Make your way to A.H Reed Memorial Park ( Whareora Rd , Whangarei) to the lower car park (this is the first car park on your left coming from the city) and locate the 10,000 Steps Northland sign. Name the two tracks that lead to the Canopy Walkway. Enjoy your walk!

Week three totals 14 months ago

This week team K.L.A.S did some major walking and did a kick ass amount of 410,668 steps.

We also took part in the extra clue hunt at Te Ti beach in Paihia and checked out how many swing sets there are. Defining “Sets” to 2 swings per set, the answer is 2 sets.

If our answer is correct, we get an extra 4,000 steps added to our total.

We sadly only have one week left, so please be thinking of us this sunday (26 October New Zealand time), as this is our last day for the hunt.

please also remember that team K.L.A.S have correctly identified the treasure location

my goal today is to get duckienz moving 14 months ago

We agreed to walk the Rainbow Fall’s track today to add to our steps for this hunt, still waiting but i’m going to make her come….

It’s 4,667 steps each way (thanks doc and sport northland for counting them for me) so that puts us up there.

It’s going to be good for us or kill us :P

Well, well, well 14 months ago

Team K.L.A.S are kicking ass, if we can manage to walk around the map (768,105 steps) again in 10 days, we will get a second entry into the prize draw as we know where the treasure is ;)

Mums the word as i really want to win the prize. Only teams that can correctly identify the location go in the draw and i got the confirmation email this morning.

Go team go.

only 192,027 per person equal to 19,203 steps per day.

ACHIEVIABLE: i think so.

week two totals 14 months ago

Monday 30,113
Tuesday 35,180
Wednesday 62,000
Thursday 50,000
Friday 56,000
Saturday 32,000
Sunday 29,000

This weeks extra clue hunt we took part in and if we get the answer correct, we get an extra 4,000 steps added to our total. The question is what is the interest rate with the ASB bank for a fast saver account. We think the answer is 7.60%

Our total for the week is 294,293.

Our two week total is 669,254 steps.
