give to charity anonymously

What’s the point in purposefully not receiving any recognition for giving? I understand the pure good in giving, but even if you’re not doing it for the credit, why not enjoy the recognition while you’re doing it because that feels good too.

When you put a dollar in the tip jar at the coffee shop, you give a lot more karma when the barista smiles at you because she notices the gesture rather than just piling another anonymous bill on top of the others. Right?

Because I’m pretty broke but every little bit helps. I plan to give more when I have better economy.
