of THREE people who might.

one constantly texts, wanting to hang out with me. his name is alex.
in my self-conscious days, (I like to refer to them as The Shy Era) I would have used the excuse that he’s an old friend that I haven’t seen in almost two years. This is not the Shy Era though, as I have gone through a revolution. This is the Party Era, which is quite recent, in which I party and have fun and am a true optimist. (I have a saying about this – A pessimist sees the glass half empty, an optimist, the glass half full. A True Optimist sees the glass as totally cool looking, and thanks for the drink.) Now, I think he might like me, as we might be taking an overnight trip with some of his friends (and a few people I know) to the snow on Wednesday, and he’s been mentioning how he’s excited, and randomly texts me throughout the day. (Also, he texts me while he’s playing World of Warcraft, and if a man taking time out of his game to text a woman randomly because he wants to talk to her does not translate to love, then I don’t know what does.)

The SECOND one is someone that I’m actually VERY interested in. He’s a few months younger than myself, but ridiculously cute. There’s a strange sort of history in which on the night I re-met him and one of his best friends after nearly three years, I kissed his best friend multiple times – however! Everyone knew it was the alcohol acting, and me and the friend are nothing but cordial now. this boy, he texts to make sure i’m going to the same parties. at the last one we were at, he texted me asking where i was, and when i told him i was on my way, he went downstairs to the door and waited the entire time for me until i showed up. i know he was waiting for me because as soon as i walked in, i missed him, but walking up the stairs he smacked at my arm and then walked upstairs with me, smiling. our friend michelle has been trying to set us up. there’s a party just two nights before my birthday (where my birthday is on february first) that we’re all going to. hopefully something happens? bwahah. his name is daniel. he’s fantastic.

this is getting to be quite a long entry. oh well.

last, but certainly not least, is the THIRD. Danish. You see, I graduated just this past June without ever having met Danish. Almost. At our Senior “trip” to a local beach, we met, and connected instantly. We spent the entire summer together – me helping him get over a girl who lead him on and turned him down. Him coming to me to hang out, all the time. I began to majorly like this guy, but always thought we’d never be more than friends. (This, as well, was in the Shy Era.) We became so close and had so many inside jokes and always hugged. He’d come by my house late at night after playing ball with the boys just to see me and hug me. Sometimes, he’d even ditch them for a night out with me – telling his parents he was still going out for basketball. In september, he left for school, and I’ve been devastated since. There’s one song in particular – The Scientist, by Coldplay – that always reminds me of him and always comes up at all the wrong times. Here’s where it gets tricky, though. He was back home for winter break. I took him and his friend to a party, (the same one that Daniel met me at, coincidentally. However, Daniel had to leave early, he had snuck out and his parents were not happy.) and unfortunately, Danish (pronounce DON-ish, by the way. Not like the pastry.) got himself wildly plastered. It was New Years Eve. I came to sit with him just before midnight, and before the countdown even started, he kissed me. We kissed all through the countdown. His friend – who is coincidentally my friend, as well as my next door neighbor – saw the whole thing. I posted something on facebook today about missing the one that kissed me and the song, and he posted “I seem to remember you kissing someone at Midnight on New Years”, with which I explained to him that duh, it was Danish to begin with. Trickier? Danish remembers absolutely nothing from that night.

So there goes. One guy – Alex – who is an alright sort of guy but who I lack almost any romantic chemistry with, besides us being basically the same person. Another guy – Daniel – who I am definitely crushing on, and seems maybe to have an interest in me. And the last guy – Danish – who I’ve liked for ages and who kissed me but has no memory of it. And I am completely lost.

So here: I’ll find out from Alex on Wednesday. I’ll find out from Daniel at the next party. And I’ll find out from Danish whenever I work up the courage to tell him he kissed me.
