My mum doesn’t want me to get pierced or inked.
But I’ve thrown it out there that I’ll cover the excess medical costs myself and I really mean it.
So what I’ll do is I’ll first save up £100 to cover the extra stuff (won’t take long at all) and then get booked in for my tattoo and then go get my lip done.

I’m very lucky that I get paid weekly!

The sooner I get my lip done the better tbh; I’ll have to take it out for the xrays and I don’t want it to not be healed up by then.

We’re up to the medical stage of our visas.
That can only be a good thing.
But oh good Lord, they’re expensive.
I almost feel guilty, because I’m not even going for another three years and all this money is being forked out.
And also because I want tattoos and piercings and I want them right freakin’ now and thats a whole extra pile of money on top. If I could afford to have this all done myself, I would do, just so I can become the person I want to be and not have to put my family out.

It’s also strange to think that we could get this far and still be turned away.
I don’t like to think what that would do to my family.

I know that I’m going to have the happiest three years of my life in Edinburgh at university, the lure of Australia will always be there.
I feel very fortunate that this is more than just a dream for me, that it’s not a desperate ideal and a way to escape the rat race.
Next summer, the family will be moving over there and I’ll be able to spend Christmas and summer holidays over there. Instead of getting a train home to Preston, I’ll be getting a flight over to Melbourne.
I’ll have my first proper job in one of the first places I ever really felt truly at home. I’ll have my first house there.
It’s wild. WILD.

The only thing that I’m a little iffy about?
Gigs.
Live music.
I need to really look into this.
Because much as I want to be a filmmaker, I know I need to be near the live music scene, otherwise the back up plans won’t ever be available to me.

My auntie officially got her visa yesterday :]
We’re having Christmas this summer which therefore means she’ll be gone before the year is out.
Ours should come through soon, which hopefully means that next summer I won’t be coming home to Preston, but instead be off to New South Wales :]

I want to go live in Australia on their Working Holiday Visa for at least 6 months.

My goal is to leave in October. Ideally, I’d like to live and work in Melbourne and then travel the east coast of Australia up to Cairns & then on to New Zealand.
