I became an Aunt again in June. This time my sister and brother-in-law asked me to be in the delivery room! It is hard to describle the amazing experience. My nephew is a miracle. I was there for his first breath of air, cry, yawn, cry, opening of eyes, cry, sleep and so on. Now he is starting to smile and is real alert. I try to see him and my other wonderful nephew as often as I can. I LOVE being an Aunt. And I LOVE my nephews sooo much!

I taught my nephew to juggle, ride a unicycle, and master a pogo stick. I’ve taken them on unusual trips. Break out of the everyday rut and try new things. Usually they will like it, but not always. I took my youngest nephew to Hawai’i but that wasn’t as successful as I had hoped. Oh well, I’ll keep trying.

My goal is to go to New Jersey at least once a month to see my neices and nephews. But oh, it is hard! I was there the past couple of days, and I needed to be rescued! My step-sister Lucy has the most wonderful kids. Bright, curious, active, so alive. But each wants undivided attention. And when they get hungry or tired, it isn’t pretty. When they are apart, and getting one-on-one attention, they are perfect angels. But together, it is much more difficult. I don’t know how Lucy and David do it. Just that they do it, and that their kids are turning out wonderful. And that when their kids are a little older, I can do more with them individually, like taking them to NYC for the day or weekend, etc. It will be easier. But for now it is hard.
