The kids and I donated the money to the Salvation Army. Its a great organization that has proven itself honest and truly helpful. Go down to your local Salvation Army to donate or go to http://www.salvationarmyusa.org

I donated to Greenpeace. Although I don’t agree with all their methods, lots of good has come from them. Tons of awareness. My hope is the we find global environmental BALANCE. Check them out at greenpeace.org.

For this month, I donated to World Vision (www.worldvision.org). I allotted the funds like this: $50 to the water and sanitation fund, $30 for seeds, tools, and training in Africa, and $30 for the girls and women’s education fund. I pray the money gets in the hands of the intended and that it’s put to great, concrete use.

For August, I donated to Mercy Corps to help victims in Peru. My hope is that everyone will be fed and housed and that they are able to rebuild their towns and their lives as quickly as possible.

For May, I donated to the local soup kitchen, New Beginnings. We live in a small town, but they serve 350-400 every Wed. I hope all those folks really do get a new beginning. 6 years ago

For March/April, I pooled the money to sponsor a child. I decided to sponsor a child through Children International at www.children.org. I was able to choose the country I wanted the child to be from (and her sex and age, which was important to my children). Her name is Bridget and she is 7 and lives in Zambia. For Feb. I donated to the American Red Cross. Disaster relief is so important and we just can’t rely on FIMA. Health and safety to everyone. 6 years ago

For Jan., I gave the $100 to Until There’s A Cure (until.org). They’re fighting AIDS/HIV. A heartfelt prayer goes out to those who are suffering from this disease. A cure will be found. 6 years ago
