Well I’ve finally ordered the gravel. It’s coming on Friday so I’ll be spending the Bank Holiday weekend putting it down and then I’m done at last!

How to finish my garden

How I did it: I gave up on this goal because no matter how hard I tried I could not get it right. We have so much clay in the soil and so many rocks. A couple days after pulling weeds they would be so terrible as well. I would love to try again with better soil sometime. I decided it's easier to support local farmers by buying from them |

I’ve spent a lot of time in the garden working over the Easter holiday and it’s beginning to show. I hope that it will be completed in time for Summer and I will be able to enjoy it.

Well, my son weed wacked the heck out of a patch of crazy stuff growing in a circle in my back yard. In the circle we found black raspberry bushes, some kind of lily, lots of rocks and what looks like some kind of albino raspberry bush. I should take a picture and post it. The berries are really good! My son ate most of them! I am going to eventually put a trellis on them. Does anyone know anything about this? I really find peace working outdoors in my yard. I wish it wasn’t so warm outside (90+) I would stay out longer. I’ll post my progress!

So, a friend and I sat down and started scribbling on a piece of paper and she started educating me on the fact that you should determine a purpose for the bed – fragrance, colour, texture, etc – and then select your plants along those lines suitable for the climate around those beds.
I’m actually enjoying this. :)
