Loaned again.
This time to Dilbar Gadoeva, a tailor in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. I was attracted by the fact that she said that building her business with help from Kiva and being able to contribute to the household had have enhanced her self-esteem and her self-confidence – I’m all about that.
She would like a $700 loan, and she’s still looking for $650. Anyone fancy loaning with me and loading Dilbar’s loan with 43T feelgood factor?

A fellow Kiva team member sent us all a message today – we are ranked 89th in total amount loaned for a group, which isn’t bad, but it could be better. She was wondering if we could double the size of this team in a month, which would mean each team member recruiting just one newbie each, to reach 174 members by July 20.
So who’s up for joining us? It’s dead easy, just click here then join the 43T team here and lend away – creating wealth and empowering people in the developing world, $25 at a time.

moving
I did it 5 minutes ago
Mr. Kognanu lives in the Agoè Assiyéyé area. He has a video game arcarde which he has named “Playstation.” In his area, he is the only one in this business, and this works well for him. He would like to purchase another Playstation 2, a television, a P3 computer, benches, fans, and an electrical transformer. This is why he is seeking a loan (through Wages). He is married and has two children in his care. I also had a credit of $4.16 which I used immediately.

..to find $4.16 of repaid loan nestling in there. How glowy do I feel?! So I immediately loaned another $25, this time to Husniya Rahmonova in Tajikistan, to help her increase sales from her grocery stall in the market. I chose to loan to Husniya because of her abundance of pulses and well-shaped eyebrows entrepreneurial spirit as a young single woman in what looks like a freezing cold, tough environment – they’ve had the harshest winter in a quarter century.
The 43things Kiva team is currently 62nd in the league tables of amount lent, with a total of $10,675.00. I’m not saying it’s a competition, but I’m sure we can do better than that. OK, it’s a competition, dammit. So how’s about helping the world economy just a little bit by joining Kiva and the 43things team and loaning a little money to someone who really needs it? You’ll feel good, I promise.

I discovered today that I had a nice little pot of loanable money waiting on kiva.org: a lot of my loans had been paid back! So I re-loaned the funds to a bunch of new borrowers, and I hope that the money and the growth and the goodness just keep on flowing.
Particularly in these times, it is satisfying to feel that something so small can really help someone else.
I just wish it was possible to help people closer to home.

I made another loan today (my second as part of the team), and I noticed that the 43Things team is in the top 50 teams on the kiva site, whether you sort by number of members or number of loans. OK, if you sort by total dollar amount loaned we are only in the top 60. But still, with the thousands of teams on that site, being in the top 50 is quite an accomplishment! Together we have made 242 loans. Think of all the entrepreneurs around the world whose businesses are thriving thanks (in part) to our help. Way to go, 43Things team!

So I finally got around to joining up with the new Kiva 43Things team. I’d first learned about Kiva here on 43Things, so of course I would join our team. (Now if only Postcrossing will do teams too, since I learned about that here too.) Not only did I join the team today, but I used my refunded Kiva money to loan 19 new loans and applied them to our team. Woo-hoo!
You can join the 43Things Kiva team too, but just clicking this link. It’s free. It’s painless. Let’s show the world what 43Things can do together.

Thanks for the invitation, Flash. I read somewhere, don’t remember where, comments?, that the plan is to do our loans individually, rather than join our efforts and give a larger sum – is that correct?
