As a teen that loves the Japanese culture I would LOVE to do this!

aliaaaaa starts school for the second to last time next week.
At a cultural workshop. One of the ladies running it put me into a kimono. It was a lot of fun. :)
I would also eventually buy or borrow the shoes to go with it, when my hair gets longer
I’ve been reading a lot about the history and anthropology of geisha and kimono. Now I’d love to at least try one on.
I was introduced to the kimono by my boss and co-workers, most of whom are Japanese. We work in a fairly traditional Japanese restaurant and sushi bar where the waitresses have worn kimono, during dinner hoursfor the past 35 years. I feel very lucky to have been taught how to wear a basic kimono and impress my boss by learning how to tie different obi. I love being able to wear my kimono outside of work whenever I get the chance and help others to learn how to wear them.

Kimono is such a beautiful dress. I love the different textiles and cloth used. I love the motifs and the colours too. I saw women wearing them when I visited Japan. I would love to wear one someday but I believe they are very expensive.
I collect and show kimono at various locations during the year… it’s an amazing art and such a joy to work with. If you ever have the chance to own one, they are just like pieces of wear-able art. If you are one of the lucky ones who learn to wear them, it’s something you should be proud of as it’s a dying art. Long live kimono : )
