Ken Chen The Artist's way - Week 1
-Get a backup ASAP of my online photoblog
-Geotag all the pictures
-Order a photoalbum of my favourites to give to my family and friends
I have tons of pictures that I need to sort through. I have them all pretty much in a box right now and most of them aren’t saved on my computer yet. I need to start this soon.
divvied into folders by decade. online stuff into folders by subject. hurrah!
both on my computer and with the photographs I have in a box.
I had a giant rubbermaid tub and another box full of loose photos and packs of photos, all from the last 10 years or so. For the last month or so I have been trying to put them all in chronological order. What a chore this has been! I have thrown out some of people that I haven’t talked to in years and some poor quality snapshots. I pulled out all of the photo CDs and discs and put them in a separate box. Now I have 5 photo boxes with dividers in them for each year.
I spent three more hours doing this yesterday and still have more to go through. I know I have a darn good start.
This is something I am desperate to find time to do.
I love photography – always have, and feel like instead of just filing photos- I need to actually file and organise my life.
I definately need to sort out baby books for my two boys.
within my existing photo programs. I want to resist the urge to buy special photo organizing software.
Do wish I could afford a new edition of Adobe Photoshop, but that’s down the road quite a way.

kepi asks,
“I have several boxes of photos from an old school disposable camera, and since going digital I store all my photos on my PC. Any advice on synchronisation? I'm not sure whether I should print all my soft copies or scan all my hard copies ...”
