we’ll see if I can pass all the written/oral stuff first, plus i signed up for an online instrument training course as well to study between classes. now i just need to figure out where all $$ are coming from for the actual flying time ;)
Ok… I was working on the exams. I can pass the exam, but I choose not to. Why? Because the exam is good for two years. And I need to get the employment/residence end of my life in order. I don’t want to take the exam to have it go out of validity or pass my check-ride just to have my license expire 6 months after I get it.
I’ve read the Jeppesen manual and have the 2007 Gleim manual for review. I’ve also made use of Sporty’s online tests. I just passed my first test there. I’m hoping to take 2 a day until 8 February. Then, I’ll take the exam. After that, I have three more hurdles: rounding out my instructional time, the oral exam (I already have the book), and the check ride. I think well be done by mid-March.
So… a few things hit—ran out of time, money, and instructor (who bailed to join the air force). Right now, I’m focusing on passing the test before 1 Feb. Then, I will buy one of those “10 days or less” packages and make a vacation to the islands with it.
18 July until 30 August.
I have an instructor.
I have an airport.
I have a plane.
Now, I will buy the manuals from Sporty’s.
I am having my parents schedule and pay for classes back in America. I don’t want to spend another damn August in Paris.
