I bought a photo box yesterday and today put in all my printed photos. I have decided against my Japan photo album, for now, although it could well be something I pick up again years from now, who knows. I still have to complete my Swiss album, but it’s almost there.
Ive put all my pictures from my laptop onto a CD. Now I just have to get them developed. Uh…

I can never complete a photo album after a trip, even when I start it right away and the trip is fresh in my mind – I can start it but never complete it. So this trip I decided to do it while I’m on the trip doing a half-travel-journal-half-photo-album and just put the pictures in later. I’ve been pretty good at keeping it up to date and writing in it everyday, but the thing is it’s turning more into a letter to someone that a album for me. Not that that’s bad, I just didn’t expect it. But now I don’t know whether to keep it or give it to him…or maybe just leave it on a bench for someone to find.

Started putting this altogether, although I’m kinda over the whole ‘photo album’ thing now. I would rather just put them all in a nice photo box instead. I’ll keep it for a while and see if I get inspired to finish it off another day.

I’m almost there. I have two left to do. My Switzerland album and my Japan album. The Swiss album is half done, the Japan one I have yet to start.

I think I have some odd photo-curse. The fates or the gods of pictures are conspiring to keep me from ever achieving this horribly easy goal.
I thought having digital photos would be so much easier, but alas, no. I’ve been good at getting them off the camera and on to my computer, and even posting some on flickr. But as for printing them out – yeah, I suck at that. Despite it being so easy, almost to the point of being stupid, I just haven’t gotten into the groove of printing them out.
So today I dedicated a good chunk of time to sort through them and pick the best ones worthy of photo paper. I was almost there and had all my best shots in a cute little folder ready to burn them onto a cd (can you see where this is going?) but the place where you drag a cd to burn it is the same place where the trash is. And in one over-confident, too quick move I managed to throw away all my pictures and then empty the trash. D’oh!
I think I deserve a medal for my ineptitude.

Since I have all the time in the world now, I decided I’d get started on my photo albums. I wanted to do the older photos first, but when I went to get the box (the cardboard box, stupid me) it seemed a little flimsy – you know how cardboard is after it gets wet. At first, I thought it was just because it had been sitting in the storage room, but as I opened it I could smell that unmistakable mildew stench.
All my pictures got wet and stuck together so now I have one really big photo, well, more like a photo brick.I tried to salvage some but to no avail. I kinda wanted those pictures. But I guess it could be worse.

Maybe if I got my pictures off my computer and actually had them printed out – that may be a step in the right direction.
I’m so smart.
