We love and crave pretty, shiny new things.

Should a shiny, new acquisition breaks, get destroyed or lost, why must we be so angry?

We are angry because we worked hard to afford the toy.

So then if shiny new things are, in a way, perishable, doesn’t that make all the effort you put into hard work… worthless?

MORAL OF THE STORY: Hinging your entire happiness, self-worth and identity on materialism is a dangerous act. Materials are temporary; the heart is forever.
