Be able to run five kilometers non-stop.
How to finish C25k
How I did it: Follow the cool runnings C25K program.
Used Podrunners interval podcasts for motivation.
Workload is light and builds gradually.
Tough enough to make you work but not too tough to de-motivate.
Lessons & tips: If I can do it........

Another check mark for the day :) It went really well, other than eating to close to running, then the jog before the very last one I questioned that I would make it but I did and recovered well on the last jog.

So I began again today on week 4 day 1.
Run went great, I ran with the pod runners interval series (DJ Beatsmith) I ran in a direction I’m not familiar with until the podcast was over then I began walking towards home but not the same way I came.
Eventually I got lost which was a welcome feeling actually, I was totally off the trail at one point and had to trek over a muddy logging path and then jump a small ravine/creek bed.
I wouldn’t normally recommend this to others unless you’re familiar with the area you live in and with the wild life. All I picked up was one Tick which never managed to attach itself to me thankfully.
I like this idea of purposely getting a little lost. I took money for bus fair in case I really got lost. I think I will repeat this activity on Wednesday :)

To anyone who is doing this program I highly recommend checking out the podrunner pod casts they’re free anyway. Found at http://www.djsteveboy.com/1day25k.html
I F*ing Love Love Love this program!!!
By combining it with:
•good targeted stretching
•excellent shoes /w Sole inserts found at http://www.yoursole.com
•Ice (when I’m really paying attention)
I’ve been able to run without having my shins feel like they’re splitting in half. I’ve run since I was a freshman in high school but was never able to make it out of the 5k range due to my shin splints, so now a marathon is a real possibility for me. I had honestly come to the point where I was considering giving up running and buying a bicycle instead. So needless to say I’m ecstatic.
It was last night though that sealed the deal for me. Yesterday was hellishly long for me because I stayed up until 4:30 in the morning to watch the Superbowl live. Well it was worth it though, Go Steelers!!! They are my home team. Then I went to bed until 10 a.m. I admittedly wasted a lot of the day on internet research, and then I pulled myself from that just in time to finish my German HW and go to class, which was also excellent.
Okay so class is from 6:45 to 9:30, I got home and drank a protein shake while continuing my research online because I can’t run on E or full right? My heart and my head are screaming to do this run anyway even though it’s late. Well I’m glad I listened to the voice and that I live in such a safe place. I went and ran at 12:00 and I felt like a child just playing their favorite game. The stars were so beautiful and bright, there were no pollution smells and I had the roads all to myself. It really renewed my spirit for running. The first time I tried this program it wasn’t even close to this enjoyable. I think it was the holiday break that gave me the perspective.
Will I make midnight runs every run? No, but I will do it again on days when I am able and when I need that kind of a boost.
