I’ve had trouble following the book at first and by now I’m sure I’ve forgotten everything again. It felt crammed with information and just not fun. Also I kept having trouble finding a good state of mind to read it.
So this meditation thing remains elusive to me still. Perhaps sometime in the future I will find a better way to get started.

I tried this exercise today and was pleased to find that it was much easier / less boring than the one before.

Fourth chapter

Today I’ve started reading the fourth chapter. I didn’t finish it ‘cause I have to go slower and think so much…

Today I tried this exercise… It didn’t go so well. I found I got really impatient, tried doing it faster, but eventually broke it off.
This might be a problem, since I doubt I’ll stay with it, if I get bored with the others too.

Finished the nineteenth (& last!) chapter of Meditation by Bodian, then skimmed through the appendices, as well (some interesting stuff there, too).
It’s been nice this week that, even though I couldn’t concentrate enough to meditate, I still (mostly) felt well enough to be able to read.

Second chapter
Today I finally found some time for hot tubbing and continuing my meditation book. I’ve finished the second chapter which held many thought provoking bits and pieces.
Particularly this quote by Achaan Chaa made me think:
You see this goblet? For me, this glass is already broken. It enjoy it; I drink out of it. It holds the water admirably, sometimes even reflecting the sun in beautiful patterns. If I should tap it, it gives a lovely ring. But when I put this glass on a shelf and the wind knocks it over, or my elbow brushes it and it falls to the ground and shatters, I say ‘of course’. When I understand that this glass is already broken, every moment with it is precious.
