I have made great strides in this recently with people that work FOR me. There are some changes that we need to make for next year and I dreaded discussing them with them. When I finally did, everything went well. I stuck to the facts, they were in support of it. I partially attribute my success in this area because all of the people involved, including myself, are moving in the same direction towards the same goals.

I have not been as successful at communication of my expectations to those that I work FOR. This is partially because my program is not moving in the same direction as their overall program. I am working to educate them about the possiblities and I hope that soon I will be able to communicate my expectations to them without ticking them off. They want the end goal but they don’t know what it takes to get there.

When working with my peers, I have made progress towards the goal, but its still a toss up depending on the person.

You will piss them off but you will also feel better in the long run. But I would rather know if I was upsetting someone and so do most people.

I am miserably failing at this one.
