I finished this last year in time for him to wear it throughout the fall. He loves it! I do still need some closures for it, but it’s not a gotts-have.

I am working on the shoulders of this thing. It’s getting too hot and muggy and humid to be working on it all day long, but I can usually get a couple hours in in the morning and a couple hours in the evening. It takes right now about 15 minutes to do one row, so that’s a far size chunk down a day.
I have to get about 400 stitches down to 100 stitches, decreasing 8 on a two-row repeat. So it takes about 30 minutes to get through a repeat and I have about 37 repeats to do in all.
Not sure how many I have done or how many I have left to do. I’ll just start counting stitches when it looks like I’m down to about 200 or so.
Well, one sleeve is at it’s stopping point. I’ve finished the cable hem and am about 1/3 up the back.
The picture is part of the hem.
I’ve balled up the rest of the Malabrigo last night … six hanks. Work on the sleeve on the way to Mom’s yesterday and some while there. She’s impressed, both with my sweater and the start of his. Alas, her cooking is just too damn good to eat in moderation and overeating causes sleepiness, so I slept on the way back home.
I’ve balled up four of the hanks of malabrigo.
I spent a day trying to swatch to gauge. No luck.
Think I’ll just start it on the suggested needles (a try-onable piece, like a sleeve) and see it that fits. If not, I’ll adjust the needles accordingly and go from there. I really don’t want to change patterns because I love this one and Pattern B is a pullover, not a cardy.
I started this a year ago and put it down and have not picked it up again. Why? I don’t know. I think I am afraid he won’t like it. Time to move ahead on it. I need to get it done and stop it hanging over my head.
it won’t be ready for christmas unless i spend all my time knitting, but it is starting to look like a sweater and that’s exciting. :)
started a cable sweater but have only completed a few rows. it’s just so boring!
