How to have a 43T meetup in Chicago on Feb 22, 2009

 "It's always cool to meet 43ers."
How I did it: Make sure to join the team, otherwise it will be hard to make sure you know when and where to go. Once there, be yourself. 43ers are friendly and fun. Lessons & tips: Pay attention to street signs so you don't walk past the Star of Siam. Resources: Green tea ice cream. Much better than I thought it would be, but then I didn't know what it would be like. |

How I did it: After a late night out, the last thing I wanted to do was get up in the morning, but then I remembered that it was the day of the 43Things meetup. Since I had been looking forward to it for a while I made myself get ready and out the door. Very glad I did as it was a great time getting to know my fellow 43thingers a bit better. and get a chance to talk in person! I really had a great time. Many thanks to Julie, Ruth, and Todd for being so integral to planning this, and to Mahinui whose coming to town was the initial catalyst for the meetup! Also, it was truly an honor to meet the famous Snickerdoodle! (along with SweetMK, catherinesdaughter, smartkookie, and marciebrooks.:)) And it was wonderful to see DoubleN and Sipes23 again!

along with the friends I had met at the last meetup. It was great to see everyone yesterday. A few new faces :)
Ms Marcie is adorable in her punkish ways, I can’t wait to hear of her travels! Catherine’s daughter, I am glad that she decided she would join us. A great lady! Mahiani and Mr Mah!! Enjoyed conversations with them and looking forward to visiting them in Hawaii and hearing about their trip to New Orleans. Smartkookie joined us. I have never met her and unfortunately didn’t have much contact as her and Lisa were talking up a storm. I’ll be looking in on her :)
It was great to see Lisa, Ruth, SweetMK, DoubleN, Sipes and Todd. Thank you so much to Ruth for confirming details and Todd for his generosity!! I am looking forward to the next one! Did I hear a possible summer meetup?

it was amazing so many of us made it. Quite a few plane rides in there.
It has always been the case at meet ups that people are even more interesting in person. With so many, there were still those I didn’t get to talk with.
Thanks so much to julie for initiating this, ruth for putting it together, Todd for the big treat, and everyone for their great energy.
The art institute was fab. Now we are on the City of New Orleans outside of Memphis.

I am sure it would have been fun for me to attend, but I had a higher calling – an opportunity to help my son through his first day of being a diabetic.

A terrific, diverse bunch of people met up today in Chicago. I got to meet people I have been in touch with on this site for two years, as well as meet lots of people that I will now gladly add to my list of friends.
It was a pleasure meeting everyone!
