Maybe it could be more than a hobby.
It’s all I want to do.

    Gdonn22 Can't wait for Halloween

    Let's begin 2 months ago

So I currently work as an Assistant Editor. I have been working on the same show for 5 years. I have been fortunate to move up over the years to my current position, but I feel stuck. They all still look at me as the position I started out as. I like the idea of going from project to project but I have yet to do that. I know I should be more positive about just having a job. I just want to feel the excitement I once did.

I have done a couple short films but I haven’t worked hard enough to achieve the goal of Making Films for a Living.

    Now let’s begin…

Have to finish and rewrite my lost scripts 3 months ago

My hard drive with all of th scripts i had worked on + the book i was writing was stolen last year. I wasn’t devistated at all or even that upset. Thinking about it now i think i was more relieved than anything else, losing them ment that i didn’t have to do it, that i could continue to dream instead of actually doing. Need to get a portfolio together and apply to a film school for a short program after i Graduate this winter.

Possibly will happen 7 months ago

though not exactly the kinds I thought they would be. My uncle might start doing porn flicks…So I’ll probably wind up somewhere in the process of filming or editing. Whatever…it will be good experience anyway, albeit unconventional by most peoples standards.

Not finished, but... 11 months ago

We just finished shooting at exactly midnight on November 29/30. Much champagne; many shots.

Now I have to lock the edit. So much to do in such a short time if we’re going to make those festival deadlines. At this point, a third of the film is in rough cut form. There’s still color correction, ADR, audio mixing, scoring, titles…ugh.

Living the dream though, so no complaints.

MONSTAR FILMS IS A VIDEO PRODUCTION COMPANY. WE SHOOT MUSIC VIDEOS, COMMERCIALS, DOCUMENTARIES, WEDDINGS, SWEET SIXTEENS, AND MUCH MORE. WE LOVE WHAT WE DO. BUT WE WANT TO MOVE TO THE NEXT TIER. WE WANT TO SHOOT FILMS, MINI MOVIES, WE WANT OUR NAME TO BE KNOWN OUT IN THE WORLD. WE WANT PEOPLE TO SAY “HEY HAVE YOU SEEN THAT NEW MOVIE? THE ONE MONSTAR FILMS SHOT.” THIS IS OUR DREAM. AND THIS IS WHAT WE ARE WORKING SO HARD FOR.

Zoë was definitely born a generation too late

I have to 16 months ago

I’ve already started on a project on movies and animation for my artclasses next year, so I simply have to (I believe it’ll be about 20% of my exams?) but I want to as well, and that makes it a lot easier to spend so much time on researching and writing before I get down to any actual animating…

just hope I’ll (pleasantly) surprise some people with my efforts

Get my shoot on. 16 months ago

One film’s in the can (a feature-length doc); and I’m shooting my first narrative feature in August. Just for fun, I’m doing a short the week before, so I get to play with my new camera. “I am a camera, a camera am I.”

First entry -- no news 17 months ago

Well, I made a 1 minute commercial spot advertising the now-defunct Columbus Film Consortium. We shot it on September 1, 2001 at an old Army base in Columbus, Ohio. It’s now part arts school and part Army National Guard base. Still working towards my goal of making more movies, but without money, it’s hard, so I’m diverting myself a bit, trying to come up with online business ideas to support my film habit.

I should accomplish this next semester! :) 18 months ago

I can’t wait to see if my ideas can transfer to film. My idol is Von Triers, I love how he twists morality. He inspires me to communicate what I feel/see in the world.
