I’m emptying out my storage unit this weekend. What can I do to prevent any bugs from entering my house? Don’t know for sure if I even have any bugs, but want to take precaution.
How to clean out my storage unit
How I did it: I used the $75/month that I would be saving as a motivation and cleaned it out all in one weekend, making several trips in the 100F+ degree heat. Now, I have to rearrange the spare bedroom at home to stash the stuff from the storage unit. It's coming along nicely.

we loved our storage unit when we were selling our house. It was perfect for getting clutter out of the house and out of sight. After we sold the house, it took us several months to get settled. We kept the storage unit, but it was so expensive. We have finally emptied it out and have been re-distributing the stuff into our new place and into my retail booth space and to charities around town.
It feels so good to be out of the storage unit!!!
YESSS! So happy! Out of 23 boxes, only 5 went back in storage. The rest was either trashed or donated. Now, to tackle my apartment!

I had my reasons, but truly purging is the real answer. Now to actually get this stuff OUT of my apartment. My reward??? It shall be tango shoes. Awwww yeah.
We kinda have to because someone is coming by to pick up a chair frame that’s in the back of the unit. Getting it out of there will be a pain. I hope we don’t have to move the bookshelves.

I made two trips to the storage unit this weekend to get stuff moved out. I was also able to assess what I needed to do about getting it straightened so that some people could come in and help me move it all out.
This also helped me make progress on goal #8, which is to create a cool courtyard because some of the stuff I pulled out of storage is going to make a cool courtyard.
YAY!

I first got it because we didn’t have a house of our own, then we got a house of our own but didn’t have room. Now we have a house of our own with plenty of room, but I haven’t had the energy to unload it. Lazy, lazy!
But I am going today to take the first steps on getting it cleared out!
