A very long time ago, I learned to stop being embarrassed about my arms. Yes, they’re pale and flabby… whatever. But now, as I consider a fitness regiment, this is definitely an exercise I’d like to be capable of doing. I also know that if I build my arm strength, I’ll be able to complete a “real” sun salutation too.
I found a great advice page from a woman who has come to understand that some of us can barely do a knee push-up, so she created a series of alternative push-ups to build up to the knee-push ups.
My plan is to follow her advice:
Today (Mon): 2 sets of 10 wall push ups
Wed: 3 sets of 10 wall push ups
Fri: 3 sets of 10 wall push ups
... continue this pattern every other day until they’re fairly easy and then I have no soreness. At which point, I move up to stairs push-ups and finally to the knees!
