wear all the clothes in my closet

I have given away 2 black bags full of clothes. There were a lot of things which didn’t fit nicely so I knew I wouldn’t wear them or want to. Now everything fits nicely in the wardrobe. Makes it easier to find things.

In order to complete this task I have a list of the items I never wear and it’s quite long! I am therefore doing a small clearout of anything that I don’t really want. I’m thinking about then taking the rest of the not-worn list out of the wardrobe and wearing something from the pile each day. The trouble is some it is very dressy so I will have to find some nice places to go!

I own a lot of dressy clothes, and yet I tend to dress down most days. However with Christmas coming up I think it’s a good idea to start dressing up a bit. Sadly it’s become more fashionable to pretend you don’t want to look good.

This weekend so far I have worn only clothes that make me feel really good. The problem is I fall into a pattern of wearing what I call my boring clothes – because it’s much easier. I know this is linked to my confidence. Sometimes people are mean if I make an effort to look nice. It’s better to just ignore them and wear what I like.

I pulled out this beautiful, white, strapless, knee length dress with a silt up the back (that I’ve wore twice in the two years I’ve owned it) today and wore it to work! I found a caramel colored cardigan and matching caramel shoes and strutted myself around the office. It felt good to look nice, I got many a compliment. I think I’ll try and keep it up.

This might be possible, when I moved back to school I only brought, maybe a quater, of all the clothes in my closet, so….? We will see what happens and what I wear.
