meet Jesse Lacey

I’ve seen Brand New twice already. The first time was an acoustic set in Downtown LA a few years ago and I had no idea who this man was but while waiting in line for coffee I heard him play Soco Amaretto Lime for the first time and I fell in love.

I then waited for 12 hours at USC Springfest to meet him. I managed to score a production pass with my best friend and we waited back stage with the rest of the band but jesse was nowhere to be seen, he ran off into the van or something.

My friend and I see it best that maybe we haven’t met him, that maybe he was just meant to be held up on this pedestal, sort of untouchable, a mystery.

due to my past mistakes i don’t think ill ever meet jesse lacey, which is a drag. But my own mishaps for tampering in opiates and anarchy. The government doesn’t tend to like that.

But for the record i think he’s the most remarkable man I’ve ever made an assessment about.
jesse lacey you aren’t a sheep of this society and stay like that.

I love him sooo much, and have so much respect for him. I love everything he has ever done. There isn’t one song I have heard that I have hated or not liked.

I must meet this man.. and bear his children… ahaha but seriously i have to meet him<33333333333

would give anything to meet him, he’s been an idol of mine for years (:

for the first time May 22nd of last year
my brother drove me 4 hours to a show in vermont to see them
after, he snuck me around back and we talked to jesse and vinny
in back of the equipment van.

this past december, i was supposed to see
brand new, thrice, and mewithoutyou, so me and my friend
got to the venue at noon (doors opened at 6)

...mind you, it’s december in upstate new york
not too pleasant.

part of the ceiling collapsed, so the show was canceled
but members from each band came out and played us
acoustic christmas carols.

i’m seeing them again february 24th.
...hopefully that will be time number three.

i respect brand new so much and listen to them about every day. it makes my day better somehow.
still waiting till the day i meet them
it will seriously be the best day of my life.

i was supposed to see brand new tonight in cleveland
&i bought my ticket months ago.
but now i don’t have a ride&the kid that would bring me can’t get a ticket cause they’re sold out.

i had been waiting for that moment since i was 13. and it happened. i walked into a cafe nextdoor to irving plaza in the city and introduced myself. i shook his hand, twice. words just fail me at best. i walked away and burst into tears. i couldn’t believe it. best moment of my life, thus far. he’s so pretty hahaha :D

Met him at a cafe next door to Irving Plaza in NYC (3rd time I’ve seen them live)... My best friend saw him walk in, and no one else had really noticed, so we left the line and followed him in. I walked up to his table and apologized for being rude but wished him good luck and said I hoped he’d have fun… he asked my name and shook my hand, and did the same with the girls around me, I asked if it was weird to be home and he said “No, not really, actually” and smiled. Despite his dissheveled appearance this winter, he’s the same kid he used to be, same spiked hair and high voice, but with a full beard, it was interesting. I asked him for a hug and he said “Maybe after I’m done eating?” (didn’t end up happening) but he shook my hand again and said “Great to meet you though” as sort of an apology. He’s only 5’10 at best which surprised me… honestly the sweetest guy in the world to meet, my friend walked out of the cafe and burst into tears… it really didn’t hit me that we’d met him until after the show, on the train ride home… my life is half complete (won’t be fully complete til I get a hug!) <3
