do something special with my daughter once a month

I had something for December: We have tickets to a series of toddler oriented symphony gigs and I was going to take her to the December show. But my first ever migraine and subsequent chiropractor and massage appointments put me out of commission for the date.

I was rather pissed.

We had other plans to take the train and go to the art gallery, but severe weather (and under-prepared/underfunded city maintenance crews) put and end to that one too.

We did take a trip on a Big Bus together in lieu of the train and she was rather pleased with the notion of being on the bus, visiting a new coffee shop and watching all the cars in the snow. Wee were also able to take several rather interesting expeditions around the block in the piles of snow. While not the events I had planned, I think we got to spend some good time together.

Here’s hoping the weather co-operates for an art gallery trip in January!

Somewhere out there is the fine line between hey, let’s all go to the garden store so mommy can look at plants! won’t that be fun!! and let’s go to the park …. again…. I’m talking picnics (at new parks), pumpkin patches, leaf or bug hunts, something (shudder) crafty. Something out of her – and my – routine.

We’ve already started it, a little, by getting Tiny Tot symphony tickets. Four times over the next year, we get to go see some crazy performances set to some classical music.
