I missed out on the Adelaide winter of 2007,
and spent it in Fiji instead…
I spent 6 months there
I rode the indian pacific train to sydney,
and flew to Nandi,
And I was absolutely amazed with the way the people
looked after me.
When in Fiji, don’t forget your sevu-sevu (your dues)
and go into the market and buy about $15 worth of kava
root and present it to the family looking after you
or the chief of the village.
and they will recieve it and yourself in a ceremony,
where you should also speak, and introduce yourself..
some of my friends took me to wailoaloa beach,
where I stripped off and had a really good swim.
At a village, I also spent many
hours and days soaking naked in a billabong called:
samu-na-i-lewa
the thoughts that came to me from the water
answered many questions to do with home, but also
asked new questions…
