Absolutely amazing!!!!
How I did it: I was so lucky to do this. A perfect opportunity came my way and I grabbed it. We were going for a weekend to Devon and I have been put in charge of activities for the week. I (selfishly) made Stonehenge the first stop on our way there. It was a little out of our way but no body knew that and every one enjoyed it all the same. As we were driving we came up to the hill. Just as soon we were over it, Stonehenge was on the horizon. It was th… Read how I did it…

How I did it: I went on a class trip to England, and we went to Stoneghenge. I have to be honest, I wasn't that impressed. Yes, they are large stones gathered together in what I'm sure was once a circle... but that's kind of it. It is nice that it's kind of in the middle of nowhere, but there are so many stones missing from it that it doesn't look like much more than a pile of rubble. However, many people here seem to have had great experiences with it… Read how I did it…
I want to visit England and make a special trip to Stonehenge. I’ve already visited the Mayan ruins and the Giza pyramids. Stonehenge fits in with these huge structures.
and it was amazing.
If you are going to go there isn’t a better time to do it.
I spent a good few hours in amongst the stones, sitting by them, dancing next to them, touching the stones, talking to them – (yes I’m a little crazy)
I wanted to do it just once, but now I’ve been, I want to go again, so so much. When I was younger my parents took me, and I remember being in awe of it then. But I wanted to go and experience something amazing there and I did. And I feel like I need to do it again.
I went once when I was a kid so I wasn’t all that excited about it the second time but my traveling companions wanted to go. We went on a bus tour with a tour company. They used a small minibus so there weren’t too many people. We got there late in the day, when you are allowed to go right up to the stones. The tour also visited Avebury, Silbury Hill and the West Kennet Long Barrow.
It was a great tour and much more interesting than I’d remembered.
It was ok, but I don’t recommend going in February. It was really cold and windy.
t was really disappointing when I went there that I couldnt even really get up close, let alone walk amongst it. What made it worth it I guess was to cross it off my To Do list. I wouldnt be wondering what its like for the rest of my life. If you really love Stonehenge you will probably feel the same way until you do it also, whether it turns out to be disappointing or not.
I got to see Stonehenge in 1986. It was very early in the morning and the shuttle buses were not running yet so a buddy and I started hiking down the road. After about 45 minutes we came to some signs pointing the way to the entrance to Stonehenge. It was very foggy (that English country-side morning mist) and we could not see very far. For that reason we did not see the rocks until we were almost right next to them. Very cool. The fog gave a lovely background to the rock grouping. It was also nice being there so early as no one had arrived yet and it was very peaceful.
ive heard stonehenge nowadays is disappointing because you cant actually walk among the stones.
I only had about 20 minutes to spend at Stonehenge and I have to go back! The audio-tour is 30 minutes and I’d love to hear it.
