How I did it: Well, I had to read it for my Lit. class in High School. So, before my finals, just sat down and started reading it. Once I started, I didn't want to stop. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I bought a nice leatherbound copy and committed to reading it with my sister. We planned to read about a chapter a day, but we both ended up finishing way ahead of our goal. Once I got into the story, I couldn't put it down. Watching the movie first helped me to get beyond the language and into the characters faster. I plan to reread it every year - I loved it that much! How I did it: I finally got my copy from Barnes and Noble from a friend who lives in New York. I wanted to read it in english, I don't know why, I guess it kept the magic, translations sometimes make thak books lose a little bit of the essence of the author I think. She sent it to me and oh dear god, I read it in 15 days, nos stop (between college and my job at that time I had little time) and it was totally woth it, an amazing story, the characters ar… Read how I did it…

Im finding it slightly hard to follow but i am determined to finish it. Even if i have to re-read parts of it to fully understand it i am definitly going to read it. I have been studying old english to help me read it. Ive got to chapter 4. :)
tongatiger I do love life..really!
Takes a little bit of concentration but you get the flow of it soon and it’ll come much easier.
I’m also reading Doomsday Book, too, and I don’t have a lot of reading time lately. Busy at work. But, I’ve begun!
I finally! brought the book home from the store last night. Now to find reading time!
I started reading it like 2 months ago but I borrowed it from the library and was reading it too slow. I only got to chapter 7 I think.
This time i’ll finish it.
I read the whole book back in January over the course of 3 midnight shifts. It was interesting, trying to remember the movie version and compare the two.
This wasn’t my favorite book, but it was good to read a ‘classic’. I feel a little more educated ( :P ) but I prefer stories that don’t require you to reread the dialog to be sure you understood what they meant. I am glad there was a glossary in the back to explain how they talked back then.
When I first tried reading it i thought the language was hard to follow so I was easily temtpted to put it down
Then I saw the BBC mini series (with Colin firth) and then re-read the book and foudn it alot easier.
I suggest doing this, unless you’d rather read then watch the movie, I can understand not wanting to spoil the end.
