mashkoThis is very hard...

I figured something out I forgot about myself – I am a campaign learner (no idea how it’s said in English). Meaning – I study only a week before exams. I do study a lot during that week, but now that I lost all track of my former knowledge and all practice in studying – this isn’t going to work anymore. It could pass years ago (during all my years of elementary, high school and first part of my University), but not anymore.

I really, really need to change this!!

But, the main problem that is preventing me from studying is that I’ve lost motivation to finish my University. I study history of art, which means… I will never find a job in my “line of work”. Also, I don’t respect contemporary art at all (once you learn so much about art – you reach the realization it is just a pile of cr*p), so I doubt I’ll be searching for job in galleries, etc.

There is one more option – writing (about art) for living… Which would be good if I wasn’t a creative black hole. And if a person could actually earn some money with it in this country (which a person just cannot).

So, with University or not – I will probably end up without work or in the same line of work I could be doing right now as well… as a salesperson, desk worker etc. Really, no motivation at all.

I just want to finish this University so I can show my parents the diploma, get them off my back about it and be a little less of a disappointment as a child (they always had insisted that if you get a diploma – you’ll be fine… which is as far from truth as it can be).

tofulogicalThoughts

So, I am studying all by my own and at my own rate. Looking at the real course-plan, the class proceeds at breakneck speed. The lecture notes contain nothing but the basics. Do the students really get the basics down to a tee? At this speed, I would forget if I didn’t!

Will the exam then expect nothing but familiarity with the basics in each chapter? If it is not in the lecture notes, it is not important? The truth is out there.

I need to wrangle with work to get the time for this. Twice the time per exam versus course plan is too slow. 8 months ago

tofulogicalI am!

I am soon at that point in the book where I usually stop… but only halfway to where I previously have gotten. I blush. 8 months ago

MangoLuveWhat?

Really now. I feel despite setting this goal, it is unattainable. How can you fully ever say you ‘studied harder’?

You study, then you study harder and you must continue studying hard for as long as you want/feel the need to.

For me, studying harder is not a goal, it is an ongoing journey. How can you study harder and at what? Its too vague and should be continuous and therefore im removing it from my goal list because it is unattainable. You can only keep working at it and that i remind myself off everyday. 12 months ago

mashkoGoing well so far

I’ve been studying for a number of hours every day, and although my hand hurts from writing I actually enjoy it since it’s a subject I really like, plus I like my method of studying.
It’s been about 2 months since I started studying again after that 1 year break and I’m definitely making a habit out of it so I’m optimistic about future exams…
However, I’m not sure whether I’ll be ready for the exam on 12. of June. 13 months ago
