meet ben gibbard

How I did it: I have seen Ben Gibbard/ DCFC play 3 times and on the 3rd time I got to meet Ben. I waited outside with a hand full of other people after the show. As time passed the crowd dwindled, and our hopes were almost lost. Someone said he wasn't coming out but finally after 2 hours he emerged from his tour bus and was greeted by about 5 of us who had been dedicated enough to wait. He was very approachable and obliging. He took pictures with everyone that asked and signed memorablia for us fans. He signed my poster that I had purchased that evening and took a picture with me and my boyfriend at the time. My brain was so scrambled from the encounter I couldn't think of anything intelligent to say or ask, so I just told him I was a huge fan with a giant smile on my face. I felt like an idiot but he was appreciative and expressed his thanks to all of us. He and his buddies then proceeded to visit bars on 6th St. in Austin. It was pretty cool.
