How to write a mission statement for my life
How I did it: I thought about what I wanted it to say, hunted down a site to help me out, spent about twenty minutes writing it out and getting it to make sense and ... yeah.
Lessons & tips: Just sit down and do it as soon as possible. It doesn't take long once you know what you're getting at,

Melony Louise is wondering, what next?
And came up with:
Melony’s mission is to reach out to those who damage themselves in whatever sense, through various mediums of art and prose, and help them see they’re not alone so they can help themselves.
I started my mission statement today, with the intention of finishing it tonight. That’s not gonna happen. I imagine I will probably journal about it for a few weeks before writing a concise mission statement. I’m not discouraged, though. Actually, encouraged. I have full confidence that I will finish another few pages of meaningful writing tomorrow.
For practicality’s sake, I did summarize at the end a few things that I definitely want to start doing:
Greet Everyone with love and warmth, wake up early and pray, make an agenda for the day even if not followed all the time, be mindful and thoughtful about giving and receiving, and Love, Love, Love!

Untangling your unwanted habits to help you live more freely. Healing your heart so that you can hear the whisper of passion.
I wrote quite a lot of material out in developing this, but then ended up distilling it down to it’s essence:
To be in harmony with my inner self; and to promote healing, inspiration and illumination in my life and the lives of others, through compassionate and loving words and actions.
I think a good next step would be to create a “vision statement” (or maybe Franklin refers to this as something else, but I don’t remember what right now), in which I’m a bit more specific about actions and short- and long-term goals. But I think this is a good start. I’m going to post it somewhere prominent where I’ll be able to see it often, in the hopes that I’ll be reminded to live by it all the time and use it as a guide for my actions.
I went to the Franklin Covey website, and used their Mission Statement Builder. Now I’ve got some material to work with when I get ready to sit down and put it all together. I might do that tomorrow, or I might let it simmer in my brain for a day or two. But I will be able to complete this goal soon. And then, using what I’ve come up with here, I’ll be able to refine it to create my mission statement for being a yoga teacher.
To live generously and with compassion and to recognize, inspire and promote authentic living in myself and others.

I have been reading quite a bit about goal setting and finding my purpose in life. I am getting a better idea of the type of things I would like to do, but want to clearly define it into a goal statement that I can post in a prominent spot in my home office. I need something that will motivate me when I feel I am not accomplishing anything toward my goals.
