I’ve started putting more effort into this. It’s hard working full-time and having baby boy. I want to be with him every waking moment I’m home. Before bed has been working out well to stretch, but hubby still has the damn tv going and there’s no place else for me to practice except the living room. That makes it sound like I’m blaming him, but it’s not his fault. My loathing of the tv is a separate issue altogether.
How to establish a daily yoga routine
"Yoga has been way more effective than rest or massage in helping my normal aches and pains."
How I did it: Every morning I do about 15 minutes of yoga, before taking a shower.
It's just a basic routine- sun salutations plus warrior (a+b) and triangle poses, twice.
So...
Do this twice (with your breath, of course):
- start sun salutation
- yoga pushup
- upward dog
- downward dog - 5 breaths
- warrior a (right side) - 5 breaths
- warrior b (right side) - 5 breaths
- triangle (right side) - 5 breaths
- yoga pushup
- upward dog
- downward dog - 5 breaths
- warrior a (left side) - 5 breaths
- warrior b (left side) - 5 breaths
- triangle (left side) - 5 breaths
- yoga pushup
- upward dog
- downward dog - 5 breaths
- finish sun salutation.
And follow with some back bends and whatever other poses suit your fancy.
Lessons & tips: It may seem tedious before you do it, but it feels SO GOOD to stretch that it becomes fun.
