I have built many computers but this is it.
I built a couple Linux boxes back in high school and i have to say that i do not recommend Linux for a secondary system. Linux can be great if you are a computer geek and want to become familiar with every nook and cranny of your software system, but i don’t suggest you do it just to do it. Fact is that it’s harder to use than they pay stuff.
installing/building a linux system is so tedious and numbing, as is installing any OS, that it builds character. like having a cold shower last for 4 hours. that kind of character.
...self-built Linux system as we speak. I love using Linux (it gives me a warm rosy feeling inside) and I love building computers, so it all comes out good.
Not something I’m into doing just for the sake of doing, but it’s certainly worthwhile and very useful. It isn’t that hard, either, with current distributions.
yakuza ok, back again for a while.
You’ll find that it doesn’t crash as much as a Windoze machine would, and it’s a somewhat steep learning curve, although DOS will help. I’ve been building Linux systems for like 6 years now, and I may be able to help you out where you need it.
