It’s a conservative country where I am, and walking around with bleached red hair doesn’t give people a very good impression. But i’m loving it :)

How I did it: Went to Target to buy hair dye. I ended up buying a deep auburn red hair dye by Garnier. We went back to my friend Kelly's apartamento and she dyed my hair like a pro! Read how I did it…
How I did it: I've been meaning to dye my hair red for the past 2 years, but just now I have finally gathered up the courage to go through with it. Totally worth doing, it looks amazing, and believe it or not, my personality has changed as well. I went from a light golden blonde to a fiery redhead, and I am loving it! I do get a lot of dirty looks from the few naturally redheaded girls that there are at my school=) Read how I did it…
How I did it: Bought a box of dye at a market - did henna before but it always turns out too orange for my cool skin.I just finished growing out my hair to it's natural colour and had bleached fringe for the last few months. I got bored of my mousey brown hair. Read how I did it…
How I did it: After seeing so many beautiful redheads, I decided to experiment with my own hair. I went to WalMart and got two boxes of Feria hair dye in Cardinal Red (I think! Sorry, it was a few months ago :P). I used two boxes because I have fairly thick, very curly, long hair. I was very happy with the results! And I must say, Feria dye seems to shimmer and gives more natural highlights than any other dye I have used. Read how I did it…

Ru ~ dig deeper glitter in her wake...
Ah, I love Chloe and her scrumptious and decadent salon full of art and cheer and colour and friendship. Extra kudos this time for flexible scheduling and in restoring the bloody brightness.
I have turned like an autumn leaf…

It’s been three weeks since I last dyed my hair and I’ve been so happy with this colour! The best thing is that the colour hasn’t faded much yet, the fading has indeed been almost unnoticeable. This Pillarbox Red has stayed in remarkably well! :) I’m very, very pleased.
My roots are showing a bit, but luckily it’s not a big deal, since my natural hair colour is red-orange. I don’t think I’ll have to re-dye my hair in a little while, which is a very good thing!

And not a second too soon – I’m seeing Chloe this Wednesday. 3 months is far too long between colour kicks and friendly catch-ups on our lives. I think a lot has happened for both of us since July, new roots of all sorts abound.

At last, I can finally say that I have the bright red hair colour that I’ve wanted for so long. And what a fantastic colour it is, I’m totally adoring this! I love how it plays with the light; it can look both dark & deep, yet bright and vivid! ♥

It’s been ages. I feel less than vibrant and with all the recent stress pressing down, I think I need to do something nice to pick myself up. I left a message – hopefully I can wrangle an appointment this weekend.

I took the plunge and dyed it mahogany on July 13th. Dying your hair red, whatever the shade, requires a lot of maintenance. Every shower I’ve had over the past month has been in the freezing cold which I found to be particularly trying given that it’s winter. I also had to purchase shampoo and conditioner specifically designed for red hair and limit washing my hair to only three times a week. My efforts have paid off; a month has passed and my hair is still a vibrant shade of mahogany which is quite remarkable in itself considering most people find that their artificially red hair fades within a week or two.
I’ve always been envious of girls blessed with orangey/naturally red hair – it’s such a striking hair colour. That said, I loved and continue to love having mahogany hair!
However, come September, I will cease this routine and allow it to fade to a dark brownish shade for Spring due to time constraints.

i’ve bought the dye. but now i seem to have lost all confidence in the whole idea. i used to always dye my hair red, but for the last three years I’ve stuck to shades of brown and at the moment im sort of mousey with some highlights. I don’t know if it will suit me. im probably thinking about it too much. hmph.
I’ve dyed my hair red several times. I have blondish hair naturally, so it picks up the color very easy. I’ve used practically every brand of color, but I think my favorite was called something like the perfect 10, and it came with that comb thing, but I didn’t use it. It probably had the most natural color. I used a l’oreal thing and it made my hair fire truck red. It didn’t come out for weeks, even when I used color oops (which is great stuff if you mess up – it smells funny though).
I would reccomend doing this. It’s just hair, and if you don’t like it, you can always change it (though red is very hard to get out once you get it to stay in your hair. You’ll probably have to get it professionally redone if you want to lose it within a few weeks). It does look rather dull after a few weeks of shampoo, though. I felt, in some ways, I got less attention from guys when I was a redhead, but I didn’t feel like people looked at me like I was a dumb blond cheerleader, so I liked that. But if you’re thinking about dying your hair red, you should definitely go for it.
