How to dig for clams
It made me
 "Fun way to fill an afternoon."
How I did it: It's been a while, but as far as I remember, we went out at low tide. You looked for little holes in the mud. Jump with a foot on either side of the hole. If it squirts water then there's a clam down there. Dig 'til you find it! Lessons & tips: As much fun as it is digging clams, I'd advise throwing them back once you're done. I don't know how or if you can tell if they're safe to eat. Better to buy clams from a store if you've got your heart set on eating them. Me? I just like the satisfaction of finding them, filling a bucket, and them dumping them all back at the end of the day. |

How I did it: I used to like them but it wasn't long before I stopped liking the taste of them but still enjoyed digging for them. My dad would take my brother's and I out to certain locations. He would overturn the wet sand with his pitchfork and the three of us kids would sift through the lump of wet sand for them. Sometimes we would squeeze them just a little to squirt water at each other with them. LOL! Read how I did it…
