1 week to go  — 2 hours ago

I’ll be honest, I’ve added this here because it has always been a dream of mine, but at the time I joined this website I already knew I was going to be accomplishing this. Nevertheless, I’m really excited about it, because I didn’t think I would be able to afford to go this year.

Worth doing!

Expedia.com had a great deal for hotel & tickets. We were in the Comfort Inn at King’s Cross and it was the perfect place to explore the city from with access to so many tube lines. Do yourself a favor and get the London Pass w/ travel card. With attractions and tube fare taken care of, you just have to worry about having enough money for pubs and souvenirs.

I am a city girl. I always have been. I love big cities and bright lights. I live in Los Angeles and have visited New York. And now I want to visit London. I am thinking it has a city atmosphere, but I want to see the international flair it has…

My trip to london was unforgettable. However, at the age of 11, my mind was consumed with mixed emotions about an unfamiliar place and unfamiliar people, and, of course the jet lag definitely didn’t help. The moment I looked out the window of the plane I saw a scene which I will never forget, with the tip of the big ben clocktower looking up at me, the revolving image of the biggest ferris wheel on the planet: the london eye, and all the way from my seat on a plane I could almost hear the commotions of the british city life. For the best 7 night of my life I saw the ancient artifacts in the British History museum, I stood before the towering Big ben clocktower, and ate ripe juicy steaks at some of the best steak houses in the world. However, I was truly inspired by the British lifestyle. Unlike the people in the US, British folk have some class, and a sophisticated style. The way they dress, eat, and act has some abstract value. In other words they can walk the walk and talk the talk. This is a human quality which I respect, and therefore I will never forget my experience in the place I consider to be heaven on earth. It is unquestionably worth it.

London is great. I was there for a month a few years ago and wouldn’t trade that time for hardly anything. The people are very friendly on the whole (if you don’t make an ass of yourself), the city is very clean and easy to navigate. Visit the touristy bits if you must (St Paul’s in particular is amazing), but also check out slightly less traveled areas like Camden Town (it’s like a city run by goth/punks,) tiny churches within the city, and Hampton Court. The V&A is WAY better than the British Museum imo and nearly all the museums have free entry so glut yourself on them. If you possibly have time for a side trip, check out Bath which will really make you feel like you’re in Europe. Be sure to walk along the Thames at night because it’s really breathtaking but DON’T stay out too late without understanding the Night Bus!
Oh, and be sure to take in a show at the Globe even if you think you don’t like Shakespeare. It’s cheap and a really fun time, especially if you’re a groundling because then you have to duck and stuff as things happen around you.
June is usually the nicest month to go, if you can, because the gardens are phenomenal. More roses than one has ever seen in one’s life!

London was a great. Worth doing over and over. Visit the Ice Bar. The best parts of London are just of the main streets…a quick venture down a corodor or little alley brings you to beautiful courtyards. The picture is of the most beauty I found in London. Hope to see you again Jo.

Great city! Had a lot of fun + weather was really nice (well, for the first week at least). Walked all over London, met a lot of interesting people and found quite a few nice pubs.
