drawandquarterme is getting back, back, back to when we lasted. Just like I imagined.
I know I can, I’ve just never gotten a chance. But I just know I can do it. Think Abbie Hoffman. That’s what it’s be like.
How I did it: I wanted to make a difference in the lives of others.
I never thought I could be a vessel for any cause or an elegant speaker of any sort.
I was asked to speak at my first event and there was about 20 women there. Being a women myself it was not so intimidating. The second event I was asked to speak at was a little different. I showed up and there was about 300 men in a locked up facility. I am a motivational life coach and speaker and I just thought to myself, if I can relate to these guys then I definitely have the gift of speaking. I since then have spoken at several events. Mostly fundraising events for helping underpriviledged children. My largest crowd was 3500.
Somehow I find that much easier than one on one.
That I am still trying to master. .
Lessons & tips: Anyone who has anxiety and has to speak in public or wants to for that matter. Find a focal point and HAVE FUN... Whether you believe me or not, not everyone in the audience will be focused on you... Find a way to make it fun and talk to the heart not the mind, you will get through much faster.
