I weighed 105.1kgs on Monday, before I started the Sacred Heart Diet. I lost 5kgs earlier this year on the same diet and have kept them off, but unfortunately I gave up too soon. I don’t agree with crash diets but I do them anyway – I feel that my weight justifies it and it does work. I weighed myself this morning and I now weigh 101.9kgs, so this goal is very “short-term”. I think once I get under 100kgs I will set further short-term weight goals, to make them more manageable. I’m struggling with dizziness and hunger and I’m finding it hard to concentrate at work.

I’ve changed to the CSIRO diet- it was going well for a few weeks, but has stalled now. Of course, having a cold and missing the gym for two weeks hasn’t helped either. I was hoping to have me this goal by the time I went to Japan, but with three weeks to go, I don’t think that will be the case.

I will not make it by my “challenge end date”, but that’s okay, because putting a number on a date can be unrealistic – I’ve been sick twice between my last entry and now, and when you’re sick you shouldn’t exercise (or so I am told by dieticians) because it’ll only make your illness last longer. So here I am, blowing my nose and biding my time. As soon as I’m feeling well enough again I’m going to be at the gym at least three times a week. LET’S GO TEAM MEMILY!
Let’s then say… I would like to reach this weight by beginning of August… but if that doesn’t happen, that’s okay too. End September at the latest, how about that? Three quarters through the year. That’ll do nicely.
After 6 months of personal training 5 times a week, I’m finally there. Shall now change my goal to something even better.

It’s a big chunk, I know. I think if I make it, it’ll be a pretty close shave. There are just over ten weeks to go until the 1st of July, though my weekly check-in will be on June 28th with WWMC. Ten weeks. Twenty kilos. I’m going to have to pull out all stops.
The KFC I had for dinner won’t have helped me at all, I’m afraid.
I think I should start walking mornings and evenings. I went for my first self-managed weights session tonight, too. Good grief, shoulder presses are so damn painful! Everything else was good, though. I wish I had a longer program there, though… I felt like I didn’t do enough. Maybe I should try some swimming, too. I’m going to go get a heart rate monitor tomorrow so I can properly monitor my… heart rate. Well, what a stupid sentence. I’M GOING TO BED.

Also, I finally got in to see an endocrinologist about my thyroid – I’ve got Hashimoto’s thyroiditis! Sounds pretty awesome, doesn’t it? I just started taking thyroxine yesterday morning. Once a day, every day. Probably for the rest of my life. Sigh.
BUT! 10kg down! Woohoo!

Bloodtests confirmed today that I’ve got hypothyroidism, so that could be a huge spanner in my weight-loss works, at least until my levels get sorted out. I don’t know, I guess I don’t know enough about it to really be able to say THIS IS GOING TO SUCK or THIS IS GOING TO BE FINE but I’m worried I won’t reach this goal, now I’ve gone and committed to it and all that.

I’m going to an initial consultation with Weshealth on Thursday. My step-aunt had super success with them and I’ve got high hopes that with weekly check-ups I’ll be kept on track.
I really want to get a bike helmet so I can start riding around, too! Perhaps I will do that on payday.

But now I’m under doctor’s orders to lose a significant amount, I’m trying, I’ve seen a dietician, but all they do is give you the food pyramid. Four years at uni to learn the food pyrmaid- give me a break!
I’m also using protein shakes to replace meals- I’m not sure it’s such a good idea. I miss yummy food!
I particulalry resent being only allowed a couple of eggs a week when I’d happily consume a good 6-8 weekly.
