I have a really ugly bald head but I also have very unique hair (natural afro) so I see it as civic duty to donate one afro to locks of love.

How I did it: I've donated my hair twice now, once after my sophomore year of high school and once during my freshman year of college. Sometimes it was frustrating having so much hair, but it was worth it. I always missed it for a little while after it was gone, but you get used to it. It's cool to be able to make such a drastic change- waist-length to above the shoulder- for a good reason. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I went to the locks of love website. then visited a local salon who happened to ship my donation for me. then next year i did it again! I'm almost ready to do it again, but this time I will donate my hair to beautiful lengths, who makes wigs for women with cancer. Read how I did it…
How I did it: How did I do it? Lots of patience, I suppose. I was 14 when I donated, and my hair had grown to the small of my back. My mother was calling me "Cousin It". So, I cut it to my shoulders and donated thirteen inches to Locks of Love, an organization that makes wigs for children with cancer. I literally felt like my head was floating in the clouds, due to the lighter weight and the joy at helping someone else! Read how I did it…

I donated to locks of love a little over a year ago. I will be doing it again shortly. My hair is driving me crazy right now because it is longer than I want and I am so jealous of the people with short cuts right now. But I can wait a little longer so that my hair is long enough to donate again.
Natoko is going to the University of Georgia next fall! W00T!
I just donated my hair for a second time!
One more go! I should have the next lot grown out by the fall of my freshman year of college!

In October of 2005 I cut 15 inches of hair and donated to locks of love!
I have always had short hair and think it’s time for a change. And to motivate me to grow my hair I want to donate it to locks of love. I think I can do this…I am going to do this!! Besides what better reason to grow out my hair, then for such a beautiful cause?!
The hair had been long enough for months and I had actually trimmed the hair at one time. The time to cut the hair was a problem and I did not want to go to a stylist. I finally made an “appointment” with my mother and she was happy to get it done around her also busy schedule. Have not received any acknowledgment for L of L but am very satisfied with the gesture and the shorter hair.
begining in 8th grade i wanted to dontate my hair, i endedup cutting it after my sophomore year. I ended up cutting off 13 inches, 3 more inches than expected, but all my friends loved my short hair and supported me, it was one of the most rewarding things ive ever done though. I strongly encourage everyone to do it at least once in their lives!!

The feeling you get… is rewarding and touching… knowing that you’re giving something that you have plenty of, and yet means a lot to you, to someone who it may change their life… Everyone should do it!
