become a public speaker

I watched The Last Lecture on the internet for the first time. That was inspiring.

Today I visited a church and listened to the pastor who was such a good speaker. He was captivating and smart…people hung on his every word. I aspire to be able to captivate an audience in the same way.

I would like to become a speaker who can educate and motivate young people. I already work with children, but I would like to develop my skills. Any tips or references will be greatly appreciated!

I usually get alot of compliments about the presentation i conduct at work. I’m a resident doctor specializing in Family Medicine and public health is part of my concern. I’m thinking, since i’m good at presentation skills, why not try to go public to the lay persons and give health education to them?

My target will be, for a start, my non-medical friends… then bit by bit, i’ll expand my audience…

It’s just a thought, and a goal to achieve…

I’ll feel good for doing something good, and people will benefit from the information they get.. then everyone will be happy =)

I enjoy speaking to groups of people. My specfic interest is business, but I can speak on practically any topic. I am a teacher, so I do this regularly, but public speaking is a little different. The people who come to hear you actually want to be there instead of those who are there just to get the credit and move on.

More people fear speaking in public than they do dying.

Ironically it’s also one of the most highest paid professions.

For myself, I would love to share what I have learned to willing ears, with the hopes of making a difference in someone’s life.

I always did like to go after the things most people were afraid of doing… ;-)

How fun would this be.. Being a public speaker? what a fun job! It’s a bit intimidating, b/c of.. all the people out there watching you, but, it’s definetly a cool way to have an impact on people.

Anybody know what I have to do to become a great public speaker and eventually end up advising a President? Like Jesse!!! lol
