i picture a lot less stuff, but a bigger couch.. more pictures, less knick nack
How to decorate my place to make it look more like "me"

"Moved into my newly rented room - a bare canvas for me to do what I liked!"
How I did it: It helped that I had a brand new room to work with where the existing furniture was pretty good. Add to that good few years of collecting poster/art prints, photographs, postcards and other such things and you have a recipe for success. A collection of 'things' that make a room feel like yours takes a while to get together but it's well worth it. I'm really pleased with my room and hope I'll have a nice place to do my uni work and reading and have people round. All I need to do now is begin battling the mess and clutter-bug with vengeance!
Lessons & tips: Have a good clear out before you start. Get cheap poster-esque prints of art or of bands you like etc. Find inventive ways to display pictures and photographs you already have. Get a houseplant you like. I have fresh herbs in the kitchen in pots and a bonsai tree in my new room!

Problem is my place is too cluttered right now. I need to put some better storage systems in place first. Then I can use the fabrics I’ve purchased to make curtains and pillows and reupholster my ottoman to match the chairs I’ve already completed.

Combined with my new streamlining and in box goals I really want to make this work. I don’t want embarrassing clutter and junk, just prized and well looked after possessions, pictures and decorations.

This will be complete hopefully with the ‘clean my room’ one!
Once that is completed this will become a new target of making my uni room ‘me’!

I still have pictures from 8TH GRADE taped all over my walls. creepy. Not to mention the powerpuff girls poster tacked over my dresser. My room is ridiculously childish .. whereas, I am not.

I just hate coming home sometimes and seeing all the mixed matched crap I have. It’s not the it isnt nice I just have a very bad way of putting things together. So manys wants and so little vision
